A Night to Remember
Liam stood outside the small Italian café, his hands stuffed into his jacket pockets. The cool February breeze did little to calm the nervous energy buzzing inside him. It wasn’t just any night—it was his first date with Emma.
He had known her for months, ever since they met in their university library, but tonight felt different. Tonight, he wasn’t just the guy who borrowed her favorite book—he was the guy taking her out.
The doorbell chimed as Emma walked in, her cheeks rosy from the cold. She wore a soft pink sweater, and Liam couldn’t help but smile at how effortlessly beautiful she looked.
"Hey," she said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Hey," he replied, pulling out a chair for her. "I hope you like pasta because this place has the best in town."
Emma laughed. "Are you trying to impress me with food?"
"Is it working?" Liam teased, raising an eyebrow.
Their conversation flowed effortlessly, from childhood stories to dreams of traveling the world. As the evening went on, Liam realized something—he wasn’t nervous anymore. With Emma, everything felt natural, easy.
After dinner, they walked along the riverside, the city lights reflecting off the water. Snowflakes began to fall, dusting Emma’s hair like tiny stars.
Liam hesitated for a moment before reaching for her hand. She looked up at him, her eyes full of something soft and unspoken.
"Tonight was perfect," she whispered.
He squeezed her hand gently. "Then let’s make sure it’s the first of many."
And as they walked under the night sky, laughter echoing in the crisp air, they both knew—this was just the beginning.
